Sailor Cosmos is a character that only appears in the last chapter of the manga. She never appears in the anime, and her true identity can be disputed. For my take on the character, please refer here.

When Sailor Comsos is seen, she either has wigs or a cape. In the manga she mostly has wings, but the artbook images all show her with a cape. When I was creating this costume, I couldn't decide which I wanted, so I used both. I'm very happy with this decision and I believe it turned out well.

At ACEN 2007, I had left the brooches, the "wings" that go with them, and the rainbow panel at home. This resulted in a quick run to Joann's to try and remake them. I used the "wings" on the staff to make a new pattern, and styrofoam balls for my brooches. Ohayocon I had the proper ones, and the scuplted brooches look much better.

Fabrics:
Various lycras and spandex, satin ribbons, metallic sheer lame, Model Magic, fun foam
Construction Notes:
The "feathers" on the brooches, sleeve, shoes, and hair are made of Fun Foam. I actually made vector images in Adobe Illustrator based off of the feather shapes and the stars that Takeuchi Naoko drew, printed them to scale, and used those to make my shapes. The image above is the image I traced from.

Ohayocon 2008 was when I discovered a much better way to make the sleeves that are often scene on Sailor Soldier uniforms, so I remade the sleeves to that style.

Favorite Aspect:
The costume is very pretty and comfy. It's a little tricky to get in and out of (surprisingly!) but it's very comfy to wear.
Least Favorite Aspect:
•The cape makes the dress heavy and pull backwards, making the cut of the dress higher up than it should be.
•The fact that my extensions are a different color than the wig. I hope to fix this soon.
