In 2005, I did another version of this costume (although not completed until 2006) that was a great learning experience. When I originally wrote out my "Making Of" for that costume shortly after, I swore I would never remake it.
However, Super Sailor Moon is one of my favorite forms of her, and my original manga version was not quite as nice as I had hoped, and the anime style that I did in 2007 (though not worn until 2008) was not liked by me very much. Seeing as how I planned to stop making Sailor Moon costumes for awhile, I figured my last new one of the character for awhile - if not the last new one period - should be of my favorite. Despite all the problems I had with my first version, I still loved it, so I decided to take all the information and experience I had gained in the past 3 years and recreate it in the way I envisioned it the first time around. This one is exactly that. It turned out beautifully, and it is the vision of this costume I've had. |

The bodice, back bow, boots, all accessories, and waist band were originally made for V3. The bodice had the zipper removed and I added snaps on the bottom of it. The wand I made from the base of the one I made for V3 that was broken before it used. Sam, TakagiNaoSama, helped me to finally get the shape of the sleeves how I'd like them.
As with V2, the collar and skirt are colored with Jaquard Textile paints, however this time I mixed small amounts of glitter into the mix to add a little shimmer. The skirt is lined after I painted the dyes onto it. The back bow was actually made of the same bow from V2, but I had taken it apart and remade it when I did V3. I used pink bias tape instead of satin ribbon this time, as well as made it a little smaller.
The wig did go easier than the Cosmos one. I wasn't working with any dyed fibers, and they pulled through the wig and styled much easier because of this. I had to blend multiple colors of extensions in order to match to the base wig. |
